Very nice and rare Belgian La Mondiale 350cc OHV Super Sport.
This is probably the oldest known La Mondiale of the type A.
In total there are only 12-15 La Mondiale's known. This motorcycle has a very rare early JAP engine with engine number SOC/U. The S stands for Special engine, O stands for OHV and the C stands for sportengine. You can also see this by the special position (oblique and not parallel) of the tappets. The U indicates year of manufacture 1923. The gearbox is a Burman with H numbering and this means that this is a racing gearbox (close ratio).
All in all a rare motorcycle with special engine and gearbox. Is this one of the early factory racers? La Mondiale has raced a lot and won some nice prizes, like the Isle of Man TT and francorchamps.
Is this the racing bike of the factory racer Fondu?
This motorcycle is in original paint and the engine is overhauled.
