French motorbike brand Automoto started building motorbikes in 1901 and did so until 1962.
Shortly after World War I, new laws related to traffic came in to make people mobile again. Light motorcycles like this one did not require a driver's license.
This is the model BH 175cc with belt drive but the BH Special mmet 2-speed and double brake at the rear. At that time it was not yet customary to install a brake at the front of motorcycles because it was much too dangerous on the sandy and gravel roads and cobblestone roads.
This is a barn find, put away like this years ago and never done anything to it. Nice original and engine is loose and has very good compression.
