Harley-Davidson 41WL South African Union Defense Forces. This is a special order from South Africa to Harley-Davidson because they could not order enough motorcycles in UK. These did not go through a land-lease order but ordered directly from the South African government. They first ordered 3000 motorcycles which was later reduced to 2350. The motorcycles they ordered were WL models, so not army WLA models but 1941 civilian WL models that had to meet certain army specifications. The motorcycle here is version 2 with a longer front fork. The longer front fork and thick tires was especially for riding in the desert sand. For more info of this rare model I refer to Bruce Palmer's book where everything is clearly explained in it.
Motorcycle comes from a collection where it has stood for a very long time, fully serviced and restarted just last year. Unique opportunity to obtain a very rare army Harley.
