Indian Scout 600cc of 1925 with P. Bigsby OHV conversion.
Paul Bigsby was a racer, engineer and got the order from Indian to build 12 OHVs for hillclimbing. Based on an Indian Scout but in a special frame with a small tank. After the delivery of these motorbikes, Bigsby thought he could sell these conversion kits as an option. There was only one problem and that was that the OHV engine no longer fitted in the frame. For this he made special inserts that had to be placed in the frame tube above the engine. There were only a few people interested in dismantling their newly bought motorbike and sawing through the frame tube. Therefore, only 5 sets of this OHV were sold.
This motorbike is completely overhauled. The original Indian flywheels are to weak for the power of this engine and are therefore replaced by a Harley crankshaft with Indian pins. Because of this, the engine is now mounted 3x on one side and 5x on the other side. Also a special Carrillo connecting rod is made and special designed pistons. Engine is equipped with 2 Amal TT race carburators.
Rarely are such models offered. A unique chance to own a fast special racer.
