Indian Chief 1200cc of 1940. This is the early model with the nice leaf spring in the front fork. This is not a CAV delivered to the French army but an American model with engine number CDO which was sold civilian and to the army in the USA. Motorbike has been completely overhauled a while ago and is in very good running condition. Has done many big rides without any problems and participated 2 times in Normandie Beach race and also Flanders field race. This is the early model with the 18" wheels and narrow mudguards. Later models had 16" wheels and wider mudguards.
