OEC comes from Osborn Engineering Company. Frederick Osborn started motorcycles in 1901 with Minerva built-in engine blocks, among others. In 1920, his son John Osborn joined after Blackburn decided to only make engine blocks for other brands. This first created OEC-Blackburn which later became OEC. In 1930, their engineer Fred Wood designs the Duplex steering system. An ingenious front fork that would greatly improve steering and handling. Hence the slogan "The modern motorcycle". Because of this, the competition jokingly declared that OEC was "Odd Engineering Contraptions." This frame was used for all their models from 350cc to 1000cc. OEC was also the company that built for Claude Temple the Temple frames used by all the major brands to accomplish their record attempts.
This rare OEC 750cc Jap side valve is from 1932 and first registered in 1934 in Ostend.
In the 1980s the engine was restored and the engine block went to UK for professional overhaul. After this it has been ridden very little. Everything looks good and original but bike needs a good overhaul and needs to be started up again.
