Oliver

Truss bridge frame

With working carburettor lighting.

The American brand Iver Johnson developed this sturdy model of frame from 1900-1917. In France, Labor had the rights to make it in Europe. Labor sold the rights to several other brands to make this model too. But because of the great success, not every bicycle brand paid the rights.

The American World Champion Major Taylor rode a truss bridge bicycle in the early 1900s in France. This made the model very popular in Europe. In 1927 Maurice Dewaele came 2nd in the Tour de France on a Labor Truss Bridge bicycle.

This French Oliver is from about 1905. On the head plate you can see the link with the USA by the image of the American flag. This bike is in good working condition and even the carburettor lighting still works perfectly. Furthermore, this bike has nice details such as: steering damper in the steering head, racing handlebars with bronze fixings, old front brake system, front fork with still closed holes for the wheel axle, working carburettor lights (see film), nice drinks can with holder.
