French Peugeot 660cc (7hp) V-twin.
Peugeot had a great success with their small V-twin 330cc. This motorcycle was easy to start and drove very well. They also made this engine in 660cc and 1000cc. Only a few of the 1000cc were made and this was also in the first Norton to ride and win the first Isle of Mann TT. This rare 660cc engine was widely used in sport motorcycles. This block is still with the snuffle valves. In 1914 the new model came out with a V-twin side-valve engine (Paris-Nice model) and new chassis with sloping top tube. This chassis was already in use in 1913 as in this motorcycle. The front fork is the special truffault fork that was widely used by Peugeot. This motorcycle has racing handlebars and the saddle mounted to the rear in racing position. This saddle is an original (with leaf spring) Peugeot saddle with the special mounting bracket for the race position. Also, this model has a belt tensioner so that after starting, the belt can be loosened and one has a kind of freewheel or one can adjust the tension of the belt while riding.
Engine is loose and has good compression, needs to be checked. Missing parts are brakes (have been ordered) and chain and some other small parts.
