The Noé Boyer & Cie company from Suresnes in France belonged to the Société Gladiator and, in addition to its own car production, started producing tricycles and quadricycles under the Phébus brand in 1899. The production ended in 1903. In England the brand name was Automobilette.
In the late 1800s and early 1900s, cars and motorbikes became very popular with the richer population. Especially the tricycles (3-wheelers) and quadricycles (4-wheelers) were enormously popular. Many races were organised up to a distance of 1500km.
Aster was a car manufacturer in France but also a major supplier of engine blocks to other brands. They started in the late 1890s and lasted until 1910.
This Quadricycle is 98 % original, the front footboards, some pipes and some small parts have been replaced. The engine still has the original piston. It was not necessary to replace it. Probably it has never run much and that explains the condition of this quadricycle.
Unique opportunity to own a real pioneer! Tricycles are rarely for sale and quadricycles certainly are not.
