After the High bi came the safety bike, these had wheels that were the same size and there was a chain drive to the rear wheel which made these bikes safer to ride (Safety). In the beginning they had not yet invented headset bearings and this was solved by the Pivot system. At the front of the frame there was a straight axle with conical ends and it fitted into the fork creating a pivot point. At the front of the fork there were still supports to put your feet on because these bikes had no freewheel yet. This bicycle has all the characteristics of a Humber and should be from 1890-1894.
