Saroléa

31F

Racing, forerunner of the monotube.

Saroléa had many successes with their 31R 500cc OHV racing model and so they also brought out a 350cc racing. This was the 31 and 32F. Only made in 1931 and 1932. In 1934 came the monotube on the market and this had as engine designation for the 350cc also the F. This is the predecessor of the monotube. Very rare because in 1931 there are only 20 of them made and in 1932 the highest number known is 44, so in 1932 there are about 24 made. This model itself is not in the models brochure and in 1931 it was only available on special order. In 1932 this model is still not in the models list but a separate flyer is made of it and there is also a mention on another flyer of this F Racing model. See pictures.

This model had dual exhaust, cooling fins on big brakes, special cams, big carburettor that came with different nozzle for racing and you also got special pistons if you wanted to run on petrol/Benzol. Also 4 different gears were included.
