Trusty Triumph with Free Engine!

English Triumph Model A. This is a 550cc roadster with free engine and optional TT Roadster handlebars. In 1914 the new model came on the market with a droped frame (already used on the 1913 TT models) for a lower and better seating position. The engine was also enlarged from 500cc (3.5HP) to 550cc (4HP) because after testing it appeared that this was the best ratio for both solo and sidecar use. This free engine model has a clutch and is much easier to drive because you can operate the clutch in the rear hub with a foot pedal and you can disconnect this engine which makes it much more user friendly. Many other models are direct drive which means that if you stop in front of a traffic light or something, the engine stops and you have to start it again and again.

This motorcycle is complete and original except for the petrol tank that was once repainted. Engine is loose and has good compression, clutch works and has been disassembled and checked (no damage or great wear). Motorcycle has new tires and drive belt. With little work it can be made riding. Nice basis for technical restoration.
