No, this is NOT a rebuilt WLA!!!!But a very rare (there are only 326 built) original 1939 civilian sports model. This is a 750cc side valve with extra high compression engine. This was the sport/race version of the 750cc production line. Special about this motorcycle is that almost every part is made only 1 year in 1939. This makes this bike so rare and so difficult to have completely original.
What's different than a WLA:
- I beam front fork - 2 bolt frame - 2 bolt gearbox (this one is NOS!!!!))- extra high compression heads- large mainfold- race carburetor- special primary chain guard- rectangular running boards- flat oil pump- special mudguards- the luxury saddle- front wheel brake is flat on the inside- rear hub is a step hub- rear brake is a narrow petrol tank has the fuel tap at the bottom- speedo is black and no trip meter- speedo cover is V-shape- Generator has copper ID tag- rear light is without screws at the rear-....
This motorcycle is 100% original except for the rear mudguard, this is a very nice and good reproduction which is indistinguishable from the original. Everything is right on this bike from the glass of the headlight to the original taillight and everything in between. The gearbox is an NOS (New Old Stock), never run since 1939! Engine has good compression (Cylinders are 0.20) and gears are taken.
This is not the motorcycle for someone who just wants an old Harley this is a motorcycle for the purists who wants to put the so called Harley specialists in their place with a "one year only" rare appearance that most people don't know the existence of.
